How To Apply for Financial Aid

students hang out at juke box at Hennicks on High Street in 1947 Different financial aid programs have different application requirements. Most financial aid programs require the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You may file either the FAFSA, the Renewal FAFSA, or the FAFSA on the Web with the federal processor. Be sure to indicate The Ohio State University, code #003090, in Step Six on the FAFSA.

On May 10th, 2015 the U.S. Department of Education will implement a new website login process known as an FSA ID. This process will require a more traditional login that uses a password & username instead of the Personal Identification Number (PIN). For more information please visit https://studentaid.ed.gov/fafsa/filling-out/pin#what-fsaid

Please note: Although the Office of Admissions does not require that you supply a Social Security number on your application for admission, you will need to provide your SSN on the application for admission if you plan to file a FAFSA and want Ohio State to receive it. If you have already applied for admission and have not reported your SSN on your application, please contact the Office of Admissions if you would like to report it now.
